We think so, we've run the Too Many Puppies project for five years now starting in September 2016. From this beginning until October 2020 101 dogs have been desexed costing $24,159. We advertised the project in 2016 and 2017 on Facebook and a write up in the local newspaper. Since then the project has been running on a case by case basis.
The project is for the dogs, and for us. It's heart breaking to see a dog put to sleep just because there's too many dogs around. We've been walking the dogs at the Tasman Pound for around 7 years now and over the last three years we've noticed a big decline in the dogs who end up at the Pound.
